To SCTA Junior Parents, Players, Coaches and Tournament Directors:

Effective January 1, 2017, the following factors are to be used in the seeding of all events at

Levels 1-Level 4 for the rest of the year (2017):

Universal Tennis Rating (UTR)

*The seeding committee reserves the right to consider other factors for players returning from injury, out of section players, players playing out of age division and other unforeseen situations that the seeding committee deems applicable.

*Seeding is the system used to separate the top players in a draw so that they do not meet in the early rounds of a tournament. The top seed is the player that the tournament committee (Tournament Director, Tournament Referee, Director of Junior Tennis, Junior Competition Chair) deems the strongest player in the event. It is not a standing or ranking.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email at tkronemann@scta.usta.com.

Good Luck in your tournament play in 2017.

Thanks,

Trevor Kronemann
